Italian Pizzelles

            Founder’s Recipe – will make approx. 3 doz. Pizzelles

1/2 Cup Crisco                          1 tsp. Vanilla

2/3 Cup of Sugar                       1 tsp. Baking Powder

3 Extra-Large Eggs                     Pinch of Salt

Approx 1 3/4 Cups of Flour

 

·       Cream Crisco, Sugar, and Eggs - mix until smooth.

·       Add Flour, Baking Powder, Salt & Vanilla. (A little at a time).

·       The texture should be like a drop heated grid.

·       Add dough to pre-heated iron.

·       Close lid and clip handle together.

·       Allow to cook until steaming stops – about 30 - 55 seconds.

·       Remove with fork to cool on wire rack.

 

Best irons to use: Model 1000, Model 1000T or Model 7500
